Hey Jeff, you know anything about Victory's Wild Devil? I haven't seen it around in a long while.
Hey Brian!
Victory discontinued production of Wild Devil sometime late last year. There were concerns about the level of carbonation and I was told that they had too many consumers complain about loosing half the beer to foam when they pulled the cork.
I have some in my cellar and ask Victory if there was a threat of explosion and they assured me those bottles are fine, but will definitely gush when they're opened (which is true).
Sorry mate!
Cheers,
Jeff
Hey Jeff,
Any chance you can order (or carry) Atlantic Brewing Company out of Bar Harbor, ME? Just finished off a 2009 'Brother Adam' Bragget (barleywine style ale) made with equal parts Honey and Barley. Aged in the fridge for a year - the taste profile was outstanding, but 450 miles is too far to drive and pick up more. Please help!
Hey Aaron!
Unfortunately ABC is not currently sold in Vermont. I have seen it in Massachusetts though, if you get down that way. It's not much closer, but perhaps a road more traveled?
Or you might consider joining one of the beer review websites (beeradvocate.com or ratebeer.com) and getting involved in "trading."
Good luck, cheers!
Jeff
I just picked up some very fresh Wild Devil at mazza's in Colchester.
Are you sure it was Wild Devil (750mL) and not Hop Devil (6pk)?
Either way, I'll look into it, heading by there today and will report back.
So it turns out that you're are mostly correct. There were some Wild Devil's at Mazza's (Colchester) but the bottling date is 2009 so they're not fresh, per se. I grabbed the last one, sorry to report, but this does give some hope that there are others at hidden-away stores in odd places. It's always worth a look!
