VT winners in World Beer Cup

I just want to send out our congratulations to The Alchemist, Lawson's Finest Liquids and Harpoon for bringing home medals in the World Beer Cup! The Alchemist nailed a Gold Medal in the Gluten Free Beer category for their "Celia Saison." Harpoon was awarded a Silver Medal for their UFO Hefeweizen in the American-Style Wheat Beer with Yeast category. And Mister Sean Lawson himself grabbed Bronze for his Maple Tripple in the Specialty Beer category.

Congrats to all the winners (but especially the Vermont ones)!

Cheers,
Jeff

Jeff, It did not receive a lot of press, but there was another Vermonter that won medals at the WBC. Shaun Hill, worked as a brewer for Nørrebro Bryghus in Denmark and 3 of the beers he created while there also won medals... Gold won for SEVEN Imperial Stout (Niepoort Barrel)and Little Korkny Barleywine (Niepoort Barrel)... Silver for his Viking Oud Bruin American Sour. The judges were right... these three were awesome beers.

Check out http://hillfarmstead.blogspot.com/ for details on Shaun and his new brewery!

Hey Steve, good call! I saw those on the list, but didn't realize that Shaun had worked on them. I suppose I should have guessed given Shaun's experimental nature. I would LOVE to try something aged in Niepoort barrels. Great freakin' idea!

Cheers,
Jeff

I don't see a listing of all the entrants, it just says the number of entrants. Thanks for the website, though!

Alan, I'm not sure if Zero Gravity entered anything. I didn't hear of them doing so, but I guess it's possible.

Anyone out there working for American Flatbread?

Cheers,
Jeff
